General Questions

FAQ

What types of lessons are offered for children on Vocably Kids?

We offer two types of lessons: General Lessons, where students practice speaking English, and Specialised Lessons, where students can learn an additional skill, like programming (e.g., C# or Java), alongside their English lessons.

Are there any hybrid lessons available for children?

While we don’t offer traditional hybrid lessons for children, parents can request monthly feedback from a language coach at an additional cost. This is to ensure learning remains fun and stress-free for the kids.

How long are the lessons for children?

All general lessons for children are 30 minutes long, with specialised lessons being 45 minutes as we find this is ideal for maintaining their attention and ensuring effective learning. The minimum commitment is two lessons per week.

Do children need to have a certain level of English proficiency for Specialised Lessons?

Yes, Specialised Lessons are designed for children who have at least an intermediate level of English. These lessons require a basic understanding of English to effectively learn additional subjects like programming.

Are the lessons private or group-based?

All lessons on Vocably Kids are private to ensure each child receives the individual attention they need. However, if parents wish for their children to learn together, they can contact us to arrange a 45-minute joint session.

Do I need to register for an account to access the lessons?

Yes, parents must register an account to access our lesson plans. While registration is free, a subscription package must be selected and paid for to start using our General or Specialised Lessons.

Is a consultation required before starting lessons?

A consultation is required, especially for Specialised Lessons, to understand the child’s needs and assess their English proficiency. This consultation, which lasts 15-20 minutes, helps tailor the lessons to the child’s specific requirements.

Can my child start lessons without a consultation?

Yes, your child can start General Lessons without a consultation if you fill in the necessary details during registration. However, for Specialised Lessons, a consultation is highly recommended to ensure the lessons are appropriately tailored.

How are the lessons conducted?

Lessons are conducted via interactive platforms, which don’t require any software downloads. The platforms allow the teacher and student to engage with the lesson materials simultaneously and can be accessed on any device.

Can I track my child's progress?

Yes, all lessons are recorded, allowing parents to review and track their child’s progress over time. This helps ensure transparency and allows parents to see the improvements their children are making.

What happens if we miss a consultation?

If a consultation is missed, you can request to reschedule. However, please note that only one consultation is allowed per user, per IP address, and per email address.

Who are the teachers at Vocably Kids?

Our teachers are native English speakers who are trained and certified to teach children at the primary school level. They are either qualified teachers or professionals with significant experience in teaching English to children.

Can my child receive feedback from a language coach?

Yes, parents can opt for monthly feedback from a language coach at an additional cost. The coach provides written or audible feedback on the child’s progress, helping to enhance their learning experience.

What is the difference between a teacher and a coach?

The teacher is responsible for conducting the lessons, while the language coach provides regular feedback on the child’s progress. The coach’s feedback is delivered electronically and is separate from the teacher to ensure objectivity.

What if I want my child to learn with their sibling or friend?

While we primarily offer private lessons, parents can contact us to arrange a joint 45-minute lesson for siblings or friends. However, we recommend private lessons for the best learning experience.

Are there any trial lessons available?

We do not offer trial lessons, but parents can start with a weekly package to see how the lessons fit their child’s needs. A free consultation is also provided to understand the learning approach and goals before committing to a package.
